South Avon Canoe Club
SOUTH AVON CANOE CLUB is a family based club, run by its members, to promote recreational canoeing through regular club nights, river and sea trips, pool sessions and various social events.
Serving the South of Bristol and North Somerset, established 10 years ago, we now have approx' 200 members and enjoy general recreational paddling on placid water, white water and the sea. Throughout the summer we meet on Tuesday evenings at various locations throughout the area, from Clevedon to Bath to Symons Yat. For the winter, Thursday evenings are regular Pool evenings when we make use of Churchill Swimming Pool.
Trips are organised most weekends throughout the year (these are run by coaching panel members, Level 2, 3 & 4 Coaches - Kayak and Open Canoe) and information on these is provided in our programme which is updated regularly and shows where we can be found. Please come along and introduce yourself, you will be most welcome. If you are new to canoeing and wish to "try before you buy", all kit including boats can be hired if you don't have your own at this time. Our membership year runs from March annually and caters for individuals or families.
