The nearest event will be taking place at Ilfracombe harbour on the 23rd July Saturday. There will be a stand on the beach providing BCU info and the recent SW news letters, info on how to get involved in paddling in the local area i.e Bideford club and local companies that offer paddling courses.
The local coastguard rep will be there promoting sea safety and there will be boats and instructors who will take participants out on the harbour around a small course. The day will start at 10am and participants will be able to get on the water at 1pm till about 4pm.
This is to coordinate with the Sea Britain week that is being held at the harbour and there is a yacht race around Lundy Island. The event has been advertised in the North Devon District Councils Sports News Letter that goes out to all the local schools and feed back has been positive so far. There will be an ad in the Journal and the local Gazette next week and there will be local reporters coming down on the day to cover the action !
